🔷This book was everything to me.😫💕 It has been such a long time since I read a book that made me so, so happy.💛💛
So exuberant and joyful and I LOVED these character.
In them I saw scattered pieces of me, and I couldn't help but laugh at them sometimes, those fits of giggles that won't end despite you trying. What I appreciated most was how real Christine and Adam felt. I could've found them on the Ha'Penny bridge in Dublin - I'm sure of it.
Christine's way of seeing life and tackling every obstacle in her way was admirable, despite her failing miserably sometimes but still being able to look at the bright side. The fact that she would help a complete stranger (sorrowful, sad, lovely, sexy Adam) with his life, and taking leave from her work to do so, says a lot about who she is.
Adam was one of those people whose light had been extinguished, but somewhere deep inside there was still an ember. He was so lost in life; saw only problems piling up and didn't have the energy to start solving them, so that jumping off a bridge seemed like the only solution.
Seeing him with Christine, how they would interact and do things together made me appreciate life so much more. I know it sounds preposterous, but it really did. I laughed along with them when they did stupid things, or said funny things
I feel like I'm so much lighter and happier after this book, it did something to me; made me see things I thought were never there in the first place.
It's truly one of my favorite reads these year, absolutely heartwarming and stunning and a way of showing that sometimes you want to fix people because you are broken yourself. You think you can mend their pieces together and make them whole, when really they are mending you too because you couldn't see your own broken pieces in your hurry to fix theirs.
We sometimes think we want to disappear but all we really want is to be found💘
And sometimes the things we really want are right in front of us. We just don't see them.ღ
