📚: Do NOT gamble
💵: $1/$3 - $100 - $300 - min/max
🕰: 5 hour session
📈: In for $600, out for $985
💭: Started off the session a little shaky. Punted off 100 BBs with A♣️K♣️ on a J high board with a possible diamond flush draw. Opponent showed JT off suit and scoops.
Preflop: Folds to me. Wake up with A♣️K♣️. Open to $15. SB calls $15. BB raises to $30. I reraised to $100. SB folds. BB calls.
BB leads for $100. I reraise all-in for $100 more. He calls.
At the moment, I put him on a diamond draw or a weak J that could fold. His min-raise didn't make sense to me and his flat after my 4-bet made even less sense. Figured an actual hand would've 3-bet more or even 5-bet shove. IDK but huge pocket pairs were out the equation. Only thing that made sense at the time was a A♦️T♦️ or K♦️Q♦️ type of hand. However, looking back at it, he was not going to fold for 5:1 odds so it was a bad play regardless of what he had.
Board bricks out and he scoops with JTo.
I admit that I got reckless with AK suited. I was pretty much gambling at that point. Reloaded. Dwindled down to $200ish and eventually went on a tear for a small profit. However, I lost everything to the pits. So lesson learned, do NOT visit the pits; we ain't gamblers, just savvy investors. I play NLHE because I feel I have an edge in this game. That is not the case with the other games so I should limit/restrict my visits to the pit. Just a note to myself.
P.S. - I was on a $1100 downswing before this. In two sessions, I dumped my profits plus some because I got drunk. After this and the previous other two sessions, I've slowly constructed a foundation of rules/goals for me to follow. One of them being: DO NOT DRINK WHILE ON THE FELT. Let's see if this works for the next following sessions.
