I've spent some time thinking about this thing we call our "ego"due to certain circumstances in my own life and the lives of the people I hold dearest to my heart. It's triggered an interest in this so called "ego" or in more basic terms our self-esteem and self-importance. Our ego seems to be the biggest cause of our unhappiness and often leaves us in a runt. Having a big ego can be soul destroying; sucking us so deep into our own thoughts and slowly destructing us and making us unpleasant people to be around.
Being egoless is a way of life which benefits us in living a more fulfilling happy life. We don't even understand the extent of the power of the mind as of yet but it has a big role to play when it comes to our egos. Where and how you direct your thoughts can make the difference between living a happy life and a dull miserable life. If we take ourselves out of our own minds and our own shoes and look at the minds of others through the third person we can communicate better with other eachother and respond to situations in a more positive and selfless way.
We are programed from a young age to see the world in a very specific way; often the instinct is to create the best life for ourselves this eventually becomes a want and a desire. Always wanting the best of the best and becoming more selfish in the ways we treat the people around us.
