Madeleine L’Engle said, “What we work out in our journals we don’t take out on family and friends.”
This quote makes me smile - mostly because it’s true! •
But journaling should be more than just getting all our thoughts and emotions out on paper. •
When we journal as a conversation with the Lord, the Holy Spirit uses journaling as a tool to speak to us, to correct us, to encourage us. Journaling that gives room for the Lord to speak can be one of the greatest tool in our lives to bring about sanctification.
Journaling becomes our record of our journey with the Lord, recording our growth, our lessons learned, our heartbreaks and subsequent victories and the precious words of our Savior.
